In the Insurance industry since 1980, Richard is the third generation representing the Smith Insurance Agency. He is Past President of Northwest Indiana Independent Insurance Agents Association.
A graduate of Valparaiso High School in 1971; attended Vincennes University Junior College, receiving an AAS Degree in Liberal Arts in 1973; and attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, receiving a BS Degree in Marketing (1976).
Professional Designations were received in 1984 - AAI (Accredited Advisor of Insurance) and 1989 - CIC(Certified Insurance Counselor).
Currently involved in several civic and community organizations.
